New England

Our first day out and about Newport we experienced THE quintessential New England scene: a coffee shop and a snow storm. Love it!

On the Road Again

We returned from our Christmas trip on Sunday only to turn around and leave for Rhode Island on Tuesday (both of us working Monday and Tuesday). I think this picture is pretty accurate in visualizing our state-of-minds!!!

Returning to the Weekend

Since there aren't many pictures of my family on here (probably because I don't see them all that often) and because nothing exciting is going on today, I decided to post a picture of my Mum from the family Christmas party. She wasn't feeling well here, but she still managed a smile and a little shimmy for the camera.
(Taken by Wes, no flash, basic setting)

Travel Day

Since we traveled back to Sellersville on Sunday... nothing exciting happened... So I'm posting a picture that Wes took of me and my sisters dog, Jolie. He takes good pictures :)

Family Christmas Party

This is NOT a face to represent how I feel about my family Christmas parties (my mothers side-of-the family), just a face that Wesley happened to capture with my Nikon (I'm alllllllll about this camera). I might have to start posting multiple pictures on days when I hook my camera up :)

Baby Collin

This is my friend's baby, Collin (taken with my new camera of course!). I haven't seen her in a couple of years and this was the first time I've met the little guy... he's only three weeks old!

(Taken by me, no flash, enhanced blue hues so the little guy didn't look jaundis)

It's a façade!!

This is my attempt at making a sandwich as good as a Subway does using what's available at WaWa. It turned out well... But still fell short :( (all that red stuff is Raspberry Vinegarette... not blood!)

Wes' Black and Tan

Kyle made this beautiful Black and Tan for Wes at the Perk tonight. I had four glasses of wine and Wes had three glasses of wine and two black and tans (and about a gallon of water). It makes me so happy that I am able to tell Wes about the wine he's drinking... GOOD TIMES!

What a Handsome Fella!!!

Wesley let me make his hair pretty with my headband and some bobby pins. What a handsome boy :)

Mario Brothers 3

Wes and Matt beat Mario Brothers 3 for original Nintendo last night. For the first time. Ever! After beating it, we discovered that you get three cards of "P-wings" so they decided to beat it again. Just to see what happens (which, with P-wings only takes about half an hour!). Nothing. Now we know!

Wine & Tattoo Night!

Happy Thursday! It's Wine & Tattoo Night!!!

I got this bottle (on sale for $10.99) of sparkling wine (it can't call itself 'champagne' because, well, it's not from Champagne!). "Extra Dry" which is actually only the middle of the sweet-to-dry scale. I think I'm going to lean more towards a sweeter champagne-esque-like-drink next time. The dryness really kills my throat. I'm not a normal connoisseur of sparkling wines but this was ok. I just really, really liked the bottle :)

Expired... But Free!

A typical dinner for me at WaWa: an expired salad (usually touched up with tons of veggies from our MTO salads)!

It's Derned Chillay Out M'ere!

Heating up the car so that when Wes gets home, We're comfy, cozy in our drive to Nate's for the evening :)

Middlesex

Middlesex is not a book about Middlesex, Pennsylvania (like Wesley originally thought!) but, instead, should be taken much more literally. The narrator is a hermaphrodite thus, stuck somewhere between male and female thus a "middlesex." It's a really interesting and twisted tale. So far I'm about a third of the way into it and it's basically the story of his grandparents (who were brother and sister) and how he came to possess his strange mutation on his fifth chromosome that made him live the first 12 years of his life as Callie, a little girl, but then become Cal, a male. Bizaare, eh? Oh! I believe the author of this book, Jeffrey Eugenides, also wrote The Virgin Suicides.

Old Skool Nintendo

Wesley and Matt wasting away a Sunday evening by playing the original Nintendo (somehow Matt disassembled his and got it to work... even though it's as old as we are!). Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Mario are the preferred games. Of course.

Hat's Off to a Great Night!

Wes' Company Christmas Party! This year was even more fun than last because I'm getting to know everyone better and Wes is establishing his importance with the company! Oh, and because Nate loves to dance. And so do I!!!

New Hole!

Here it is! It turns out i have NO webbing in my mouth what-so-ever... So that pretty much stomped on my hopes of getting the webbing under my tongue done (which, they said, was more of a novelty piercing which means people don't keep them in for too long). After some deliberation and talking in circles to a poor, slightly abused Wesley I decided on the Conch. Super (DUPER) Ouchy... But i think it'll be worth it when it heals ($25 at Fyre Body Arts by Sara)!

Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat, Why do You Smell Like That?

This glorious drink is called a Smelly Cat! The Porterhouse is my favorite place :) Wes, Matt, Julie, her husband, Lynette and myself all came here tonight to celebrate Dan graduating!

An Uncomfortable Place for a Band-Aid

Why, yes! I DID accidentally stab myself with a pen last night out of frustration! (I had an uber jerk customer and so, needing to take out my aggression on something helpless, I went to slam the cap onto the pen sitting at my register... Only the cap was on the dull end of the pen... Not the business end... Which poked a nice big hole in my palm. Ironic for a "non-believer" to have a hole in her palm, eh?)

Physics Phun? Phinale!!!!

This is my "cheat sheet" for my physics final today. In other words, all things evil and terrible about this past semester of physics is here, all together, to form one double-sided sheet of horror. This is the stuff nightmares are made of! At least I get to sell back my physics book today :D

A+++++

Hopefully my grade for the speech I gave for honors last night. I honestly believe he has a difficult time giving anyone anything less than an A-... so I should be safe!! Plust he really, really liked our beer :D

Cold Weather Calls for Dark Hair

Anyone that knows me well enough knows I have an affinity for dying my hair... I can't help it! This color is actually my favorite color (Garnier #66 "TRUE RED") but it's becoming difficult to find... But i found it for $4.99 at CVS today! lucky me!

Lots of Wine in a Pepper Glass

We were supposed to go our friend Adam's house for his 21st birthday tonight. Wes and I came over to Kyle's house for ribeye steaks with Kyle and Mallory before going out to the party. So... We head out to the party at the time we were told to... And no one is there. Turns out Adam's dad had planned at surprise party for him at a members only club. Oh well... We head back to Kyle's since his mom and sister are in Scotland. This is me drinking a large glass of Little Boomey Chardonnay!

Australian Wine and Chinese Food

Jacob's Creek Cabernet Sauvignon: in continuing with my Australian wine theme. This was decent. Didn't really stand out as anything spectacular but at $6.99 for a 750mL bottle, it's not a bad deal!! I ate it with curry chicken and onion's... Chinese food and wine!

Wine & Tattoo Night

Little Boomey Chardonnay. I first had Little Boomey when we went to Outback Steakhouse a couple weeks ago with Kyle and Mallory. I'm pretty certain that I had their cab sav and I wouldn't normally have bought Chardonnay but I was planning on stretching it through Thanksgiving Eve and Thankgiving dinner... But getting really sick Thanksgiving morning screwed those plans up. Luckily, in this scenario, i had bought the Chardonnay instead of the Shiraz because I think the Shiraz would've gone bad by now :\

Babies!

My friend kristen, the person I've known longer than anyone else, had her baby today! Colin!

Now THAT'S a Fast Turkey!!

For physics, poor Wesley became the focus of my project. First I had him recklessly going down a steep hill on his longboard into an intersection (timed perfectly so that the traffic light had just turned green, of course) but that wasn't enough. So, in the middle of said intersection... he runs into a quite unlucky turkey. Since Wes has a mass that ten times that of the turkey and he's going about five times the speed... he hit's that turkey... and it goes FLYING (about 41 m/s)!!!!

Beer and Groceries

Wegman's in Williamsport sells beer now! I remember hearing about the possibility of Wegman's getting an alcohol lisence but I never heard follow up's. Now, it appears that the experiment is under way! (Steve bought a 24oz can of Foster's for $2.79 hahahahahaha)

Night Time Lights

I love the lights within my car: purple, blue, and red! Since I was puking my brains out this morning and wasn't able to make the drive home to enjoy turkey at my parents house, i spent the day recouping in the basement and now Wesley is driving us to Williamsport. I'm still not feeling top-notch but i figured the ability to keep water down comforts me that I'll be able to complete the trip without use of my handy, puke-emergency grocery bags :(

One of the Jack's

For some reason, Mr. Mike Shea loves this stuff. I dunno what is wrong with that kid, but this, FOR SURE, is one nasty form of alcohol.

RAWR!

Wesley's new drawing project. He thinks it'll end up being a dragon of sorts. I keep trying to get him to draw me a tattoo... I'll keep pushing it...

Leinenkugel's: Fireside Nut Brown

This is the beer I bought because Old Towne didn't have stinking Samuel Adam's Winter Lager... Not that Leinenkugel's was bad... it just tasted like beer-soda. It was really caramel-y and sweet but still had that bitter-roasted-brown flavor. Odd indeed.

Cheer up! The worst is over!

This is my very sick boy. This isn't the peak of patheticness... it's the tail end... but it's still so over-the-top dramatic, you can imagine what the peak looked like. As Wesley now understands, wishing food poinsoning upon someone should be reserved for only the most foul and hate-able people. And even then... you might end up feeling sorry for them.

learn how to act in public

See this sign? It is your best indication as to which registers are open and which are closed. It's even in TWO languages for your reading pleasure. Therefore STOP ACTING LIKE AN IGNORANT FUCK, START READING THE SIGNS, AND STOP STANDING AT THE REGISTERS WITH THESE SIGNS!! If you do fall into the trap of stupidity and end up standing at a registe adorned with one of lovely signs, i WILL NOT help you because i CAN NOT help you because there is NO MONEY at these registers. Also, i would like to encourage adults to learn how to handle their money: don't give me a crumpled wad of cash and ask "is that enough?" don't throw your money on the counter and then put your hand out for change immediately after doing so. In fact don't throw your money on the counter. Ever. I am a human god damn it. Treat me like one!

MEW-ZAY-UM

We went to the Art Museum yesterday (noooooooo I did not take this picture!). I think we actually saw all the wings which was a first for me. There's a new display in which they have brought in a Japanese tea house and built this room up with a sand garden, stone walkway, bamboo fences and everything to make it look really, really authentic. It was uber cool!

Icky weather.

Of course the torrent of wind and blinding rain didn't begin until we left for Drexel. Super dooper! This picture was taken after the torrential downpour slowed to slightly less dangerous gentle rain.

Tastey's!

I know i shouldn't have bought this box of tiny delights... But they're so tastey! We'll call it my it-sucks-that-I-had-to-work-tonight treat to myself :) I'll worry about the guilt tomorrow.

Wine & Tattoo night!!!!

The chosen wine for Wine & Tattoo night: a local concoction that's dry at first then finishes sweet with a burst of berry flavor! A "girls night out wine" as the sales rep put it. Indeed!

I bought this from a kiosk at the Montgomery Mall. Sand Castle Winery is located in Bucks County just north of New Hope. Tours next summer? Anyone????

P.S. They have a chardonnay that I actually LIKED!

Turkey and two bean chili

Turkey Chili was dinner for this Wednesday. Onions, garlic, green peppers, ground turkey, diced tomatoes, kindey beans, white beans, chicken broth, and corn made this delightful dish. I cooked the turkey, onions and garlic the night before and threw them into the fridge. So Wednesday morning all I had to do was throw the turkey mixture into the crock pot and open a bunch of cans and dump them in! When I got home I added a ton of chili powder, a few drops of XXX Habenero Hot Sauce, and a good amount of green Jalepeno Hot Sauce and VOILA! Delightful chili! Crumble some corn bread on top, add a sprinkle of cheddar and you have a wonderfully comforting cold-weather dinner.
